Unless it's different from the 907 switch, loosen the lock nut then it just unscrews.

Thanks... I’ve asked the question badly, I want to discard the switch. Do I earth the wire?

I don’t want any form of cut out. The side stand is removed.

If you earth the wire the light in the dash will light up. If you don't want it lit leave the wire disconnected.
