Fitting 900SS headers to a 750 Sport

Post by jsey »

Hi all
I purchased a nice set of 1995 900 SS headers the other day after having found out they will fit my 1990 750 Sport. The headers came with the retainers and I noticed that the retainer are a slide fit over the flanged end of the header. Am I missing some sort of shim that holds the header tight to the head, if so does anybody know where i can buy them? Thanks.

Yeah, there are two steel half shell type of things that you need for each pipe. this was a change in later models and allowed things to move a bit more without creating exhaust leaks. You need a total of 4 of them. They fit around the pipe and touch off on the flange on the pipe and the retaining collar.

And closest to heads, there is a copper gasket.
