chain and sprockets

Post by ir_joep »

Hi,

I've just aquired a 750 sport ('92), which is a 88-89 model. I've wanted this bike for a long time!!!

I'm a bit puzzled by the chain and sprockets installed on the Sport. The sprocket on the engine has been made in such a way that it is mounted on the very end of the splined engine axle and fixed with one central bolt. If I take a look at the 750 sport documents and even at the 750 paso I see a different system where the sprocket is installed futher down the axle (towards the engine) and bolted down with two bolts and a little plate. (like my 650 elefant).
I have trouble seeing if the sprockets line up. Which is the right system?

Thanks

Joep
