Dellorto problems
This weekend I decided to clean the air filters on my Sport. The foam came apart when I put the filters in mineral spirits. I went to a local bike shop and purchased Uni air filters. The foam in the new filters appears to be denser than the foam in the old filters. Now the bike wants to buck when held at a steady speed with very small throttle opening. The bike idles and starts very well (just like before). If the throttle is opened more response is excellent. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Dellorto problems
maibe the special filter you've installed needs a richer tuning of carb mixture.
Try turning both mixture screvs ONLY 1/2 unclockwise

Re: Dellorto problems
Most oil type filters need about 50 mile or so to break in after re oiling, especially when new. Uni filters are very good filters by the way. Most folks tend to put way too much oil on them.it don't need to be dripping just a good coating. jm2c's

Or leaning out if new filter is more restrictive.maibe the special filter you've installed needs a richer tuning of carb mixture.

Re: Dellorto problems
or most likely too much oil, leave it alone for a while and learn
If after 50 miles or so it is still acting lean, step up a jet size to compensate, Uni filters are not as restrictive as most other filters, but take your time and get it right.............

Re: Dellorto problems
Thanks for the input. I have made a small change to the idle mixture and am going to put some miles on before I make further changes. I will post any changes made at that time.
