I'm planning to have a late 90's brembo three spoked 17" rear monster rim and a brembo 16" 88 front paso rim powder coated black for my sport (they don't match but they will at least be the same color).
I need to know what the original finish was because it effects the price quite dramatically--Previously powder coated rims should be chemically stripped rather than blasted.
If anyone knows of a powder coater in the LA area that they would recommend please let me know.
Hope everyone out there is enjoying their bikes,
Kristian

Re: What's the original finnish on Brembo rims?
The easiest way is to test the paint with some common solvents to see if it comes off. Powder coat is basically polyester, and shouldn't be affected by any solvent. If you want a spare front wheel, I have two just sitting around and probably won't ever use them, unless 16" wheels fall into fashion again.
Cheers,

Hi ducinthebay, thanks for the offer of the wheels--I bought a second front wheel so that I could keep the originals original (will probably never use them again but happy knowing that I have them).
Got a good price on the powder coating from a small operation called therm-O-finish in El Monte CA if they do a good job I'll post my experience.
