I only got them because of your insistence Peter :lol: .I wasn't happy with the result from painting the instrument support frame so I've repainted it.Sooo nothing exciting to report tonight.I think I'll tackle this and the sidestand tomorrow.

I assume yours is an '88? mine was a '90 quite a difference in the electrics tray, no.

That is different.It looks like you get a better air flow to the regulator.I wonder if the previous owner cut the tray or it came from the factory like that.I might look into either drilling some holes into the front of the tray or cutting it back like yours.

Peter`s tray isn`t cut. It`s just that he has removed the crankcase breather tank. At least that is how it looks.

Ah, that makes sense, mine was gone when purchased Gerhard, had the huge long 'orrible pipe running from the breather to the back guard.

Does look like part of the assembly in picture though, haven't actually seen one with it in place til now all looks joined but obviously not.

I just went up the back and had a look and your absolutely right G.I'll be leaving mine off as well.The more air flow to the regulator the better.

In my opinion, the Crankcase breather is well worthwhile to keep in place. its designed as a Helmoltz resonator and helps to get gasses out of the engine better than the open breather right off the crank. If you put on an aftermarket shock though, you won't be able to fit the stock breather tank, as the spring coil is much wider than stock. I have tried many ways to do that, and have no good solution. Ended up with a long 1" ID stiff tube to the back with a Bunn Breather one way valve on the end. Actually helps on the top end.

That's what I was thinking of doing.I did that to the MHR but the breather boxes on them were'nt anything special.

You seem to have the same regulator as Lanes 906.

I've no idea what it ran too from the Digiplex, something to do with the Fuel Injected models or the webber or some such? vaguely remember reading something here on the site but old age has kicked in. :lol:

Did wonder when ever the seat unit was off it, but it ran fine and never worried about, whoever did the Keihin conversion in Japan seemed to know their stuff, so had tried to leave most things alone on it, barring the wheels/brakes/fairing of course......

Now get back to the shed :D

Looks like a nice Summer (and Winter also if you work as slow as I do) project. Have Fun. It looks like a Learning Experience.

The vacuum hose that goes to the Digiplex, should be connected to the barbs on the intake manifolds. If everything still works, this is a vacuum advance. Helps most on the top end. With my original Digiplex box, the vacuum advance did not work anymore. I bought a new one from Ian in Oz, and it surely found a few more ponys on the top end. I ran a "T" and tapped into both intake manifolds, and ran all fresh lines to eliminate any leaks.
