Hi Peter,

Booked by cops for noise .... strange thing is that they don't book one of their own and enough of the cops around now know son is one of them and leave me alone too.

My neighbours do have a laugh because they say they can hear it coming as it echos thro the hills.

She still turns heads.

Not sure who you going use to fix your tank but there is a guy here in Adelaide who is bloody good. I had him take dents out of Cagiva tank and did not think he could do it, amazing as is his paintwork.

Has now done several tanks for me and even to the point of painting the decals on.

Can send you details if you wish. And yes Peter (bmw), have got Ducati back from son but weather has been so crappy over winter and spring. Son waiting until another one of my bikes is done and he wants to "borrow" that.

Hey David, thanks for that.Sounds like someone worth knowing. Expensive?. I still haven't done anything about the tank but will be trying to fix it next year. Only12 more months until club rego then I'm hoping to get out and about on it a lot more.

Cheers

Hi Andrew,

I will get details from my son and post them here for you as I don't have them with me and presently at sea (work). Price I guess is relevant but in my opinion (for what it is worth) is fair .... his work is bloody good. When he did the Cagiva tank I wanted it a little more personal ... so he did a twist to the Cagiva logo (will post it if I can find a copy of it on laptop)

I have another tank with him at present (off of an unmolested RGV).

Thanks David, I look forward to getting some details. That's interesting that you have an RGV. I've heard of owners fitting RGV wheels to their early 16" wheeled Ducatis. You wouldn't be able to take some measurements by any chance would you. Axle diameter etc. It would be interesting to see if they fit on easily.

Cheers

Hi Andrew,

Happy to measure the RGV wheels when i get back home, wont be until early Feb tho'. Should have done it while I had them both out a while ago.

I have just changed the rear RGV wheel back to the original, somebody had fitted a rear 18" (I think) so now it is back to totally original. The RGV uses the same size tyres as the Duc' which always makes me laugh, either one is over tyred or one under. The wheels for these crazy little bikes are not that easy to find anymore tho.

I've always love the RGV's and the Aprilia RS250 even more so. Funny as I was thinking about looking for a RG500 today for some reason. I remember riding one when they first came out and was impressed at the time. Probably out of my price range now.

Andrew,

This is how I got the Cagiva tank back .... all done by hand with a twist on the Cagiva logo.

After all, not sure about others 750S but mine is covered in the little elephant , so maybe more Cagiva

I agree about the Aprillia (sp) would happy have one of them, would make a nice pair.

I see a guy regularly around where I live riding a RG500 .... have thought of asking if he wants to sell it, then have a reality check, need another bike like a hole in the head.

Thanks David, I'll get in contact with them when I do the repairs. There's a guy here who thinks he may be able to pop the dents out but I'm not real confident as they're on the crease on the sides of the tank.
That logo looks great. Is it on a Mito?.

Hi Andrew,

Yes a Mito, love the little thing is so much fun. At present my dad, now 87, has it and is riding it regularly

The dents in the tank were in the worst possible place (aon the corners) and had started looking for new tank when found this guy.

Love his work.
