750 Sport on ebay (UK)

Here's a tidy looking Sport on ebay:

One of the more common silver and black ones I'm afraid!

Silver and black is common? . . . . Really?

How's it priced? I thought on first sight that it was/is very expensive.

Any thoughts guys coz I really don't know and (for reasons I don't fully understand) I quite fancied it.

That would be cruel and I am not as we have been there ourselves for far too long and it's nice to bask in our present glories silently

I thought so too but then it has been recently refurbished by the look of it... Strange thing these bikes they either sell at high prices or silly low values with what appears little work required maybe a classic case of ebay auction fever me thinks.

Silver & Black is rare, but most of the UK guys on here seem to own one...

I reckon I'd offer him £2k for it and see if he bit. They have been going for a lot less, and it's not completely original so mongrel rates apply.

I think the Red and Silver paint job was just viewed as too garish for gentlemen sportsmen in Britain, so they toned the paint job down a bit.

Of course the first Sport paint job, the red, white and blue, looked a bit like a toy, and wasn't taken so seriously I think, especially with an 851 near by. I see the silver and black paint job an effort to put a suit on footballer.

Says in the book that 95 were painted silver, pretty rare but it's ducati a proper enthusiasts bike so hopefully all 95 are still kicking.

I paid £1000 for mine with about 16,000 miles on it from new I think. Abit worn and could do with a polish but I'd like to think I'd get at least £1500. Let's face it the whole 750 sport is a rarity now, put in 750 sport on ebay and it shows you a 750 supersport.

Cheers, Alex

Here in Oz in VGC they have a book value of $11,000 to $12,500 the last one I tracked that was for sale on "Bikepoint" last year here went for around the $9,500 mark and it was a lowish Km (23 or 25 thousand km) 1st Model and totally stock.

Mind alone (which has done all of 5,800 Km and is a butchered mongrel  ) will owe me nearly $9000 when the wheel conversion is done, so apparently in the UK & US you can pick them up dirt cheap.

If this bike was here and close enough, I wouldn't even hesitate slapping down a min. of 2.5 to 3K for it, it would be an absolute bargain in Ozzieland.

Cheers

Peter
