Re: 2 more sports are done
Those are 2 great looking bikes, think I might be getting jealous.
Good luck at your classic meeting, and post any action shot's if you can, always like to see Ducati's or any sports bike for that matter being ridden the way they should
Cheers
Peter

Re: 2 more sports are done
Well done indeed.
Nice Pair.
What were the donor front fenders from? Looks almost likeMonster fenders, trimmed quite a bit.
Either you do nice paint, or you have a good friend that you buy lots of beer.
Some description of both would be grand.
Do you have names for them? What do you call them when your wife asks about which one is stealing your attention in the garage?
Cheers, Phil

Re: 2 more sports are done
some details,
the tricolore has the standard 750 sport engine, but whit the mukuni carb of a 900ss and 2, 60mm bend hosses whit large k&n air filters.
the 2 conti's make a great sound
the fork is a rebuilt mr1 from the paso whit 41,7mm clipons
wheels are 17 inch from the ss, full floating disks from the 888sp and 851 calipers.
the tank is from the ss and seat is a polyester F1 replica whit 2 small round tail lichts from the internet
the front fender is the original sport fender, but turn around and cut, the back of the fender is naw the front.
back fender is 900ss and cut to look good.
the paint job is done by my frend in a profesional paint chop, (fore a little beer money indeed) but i did all the sanding and decals.
the black one,
750 sport engine whit flowed haeds and intakes, rebuild 40mm phm dellorto's and open cans, no air filters, they make more sound then the tailpipes.
the engine runs great and schoots away from 3000 rpm, whit no dip at all,
it dont run as smooth like the tricolore, but verry good fore racing!
fender and seat are the original, but all are cut, and i close the gaps off the headlicht and back licht whit polyester.
original forks, but whit a lot thikker oil in them and springs.
17 inch ss wheels, full floating disks, and modern callipers.
front fender is from 851, but cut off the fork legs. back fender is the sport fender but cut a lot off!
the paint job i did my self whit a sprycan in winter time, its not that great, but its not bad, for spraycans. and remember its fore racing, its more go, then show.
i do have 2 more sports, but not complete, and used fore spare parts
some parts are sold, but i can make one more if i like, maybe next winter.
if someone is looking fore a weber, i have one in good condition whit intake's and k&n filter, you never know.
so thats about it
gr Willem.

First it's a really nice job, you have done on your bike'swil-duc wrote:some details,

.
And now time for a question I see that you have a tank from a 1991> SS. How much work does that installation requires ? I ask because I own a 1990 900ss, and my tank have alot of dent in it. So i would like to put a new tank on it
Best regards Simon

Re: 2 more sports are done
simon,
on the front i have a home made bracket bolt on the frame fore the clamp off the ss tank.
the two rubbers that carry the tank, on the tube's of the frame, needs cutting the corners on the inside, because it wil hit the horizental tube of the sport frame.
on the end of the tank is the original bracket off the ss, so you can flip the tank up.
i just drilt two holes in the bracket, and two matching holes in the horizontal tube of the frame, and bolt them together. i can stil flip up the tank, but i do need to remove the seat if want to do that.
thats it!
gr willem.

Re: 2 more sports are done
that's kind of funny. i have a 93ss i'm looking at fitting a 750 sport tank to with the same f1 race seat (old racing spare parts?) and an f1 front fairing.
do you have a photo of the tail lights? i've been wondering what i'm going to do with mine.
