battery suggestions?

Anyone recommend a good sealed gel battery? My bike had recently started misfiring (cutting out for a second) at forest sporadically now note frequently, under load, and now the battery died. So hoping the dying battery was causing the cutout.

Motobatt are the battery of choice at the moment. http://www.motobatt.com/
AGM (Absorbed Glass Matt) means they are leakproof and the Motobatt batteries have a higher capacity and higher CCA than the OEM.

I put a motobatt in my 999 and wasn't impressed. Started losing charge after 1 year and needed replacing after 2. I keep my batteries indoors in winter and charge them up monthly. Got a Yausa in it now.

I ended up with e Bikemaster Gel. Doubles as a boat anchor.

I just tried to put a motobatt Mb16au in my 89 750 sport to replace my YB16AL-A2. The motobatt is about 2mm thicker and flat out doesn't fit in my bike. Maybe I could bend the regulator mounts and force it in but I'd have a hard time changing the regulator if I did so. Just FYI.

Got the motobatt in mine, a really snugâ˜ș tight fit but all ok, getting it back out will be a whole lot worse...

Would you be able to do me a favour and send a picture by any chance? Is your regulator/rectifier mounted in front of your battery? Mine is so I can't insert the battery at an angle without it hitting the bolts that hold the regulator.

Oh no, they help alright. Thanks :)

I see you don't have your R/R mounted on the two brackets welded to the frame in front of your battery. It's those that stop me getting the battery in (the battery has to go in at an angle because it's slightly wider and it hits the bolts that hold my reg on).

I think I'll have to ditch it. Where's your R/R? Under the seat?

The R/R needs good airflow, as it gets hot. If you move it, make sure there is good airflow over it. Also make sure the case is grounded well.

Oh, absolutely. I meant I'll have to ditch the battery, not move the reg. :)
