I know it makes no difference how they are installed. I`m just wondering if there are indeed different sizes or if the ones Joep saw were just installed the other way around and made him think there were different sizes.

No. I had them in my hands, so I could see both sides.

I also noticed different oil jets on the Stein-Diense website ( # 080517125 and 075517125). I do not know if this is related to the inside diameter as they do not state the inside diameter of the oil jet.

Yes, there are different sizes. They are also used on Bevel engines and, if I remember correctly, it is recommended to change them to ones from later belt engines which have a larger hole. This is to increase the oil flow to the camshafts.
And you are right, upside down they will look different sizes as the restriction is at one end only. I have a pair from an ST2 lying around the garage somewhere.
