I have most of the prep done on the bodywork but no primer yet, the oil leak I mentioned in another thread has put a spanner in the works pardon the pun, I now need to rip the motor out to remedy, in hindsight I really stuffed up, I need a big shed cleanup and tool sorting before I can get around to pulling the engine out, the painting going on the backburner, got to find some more energy and push this along

I had a project that hat was stalling and wanted to ride it in the summer, I booked a week off and every day at 8.00am I was in the workshop. Each day I focused on a task and by Friday I was taking my bike for its vehicle test. I spent the weekend making final adjustments concluding with a fab ride on the Sunday afternoon and loads of rides through the summer.
It’s winter here in the UK and my 907ie is ready after its winter service and maintenance, as soon as the sun comes out so is my bike!

Hi benelliman I like your style mate, unfortunately I can't take that week off from work and more unfortunately most my spare time is spent visiting my mum whose fading away in hospital from dimentia and its nasty complications, trying to present her house for sale and all that horrible stuff I didn't see coming, its draining ,so enough of that I will still plug away at the 89 and maybe next summer will be a better one, cheers

Hi HIGHWAY89, sorry to hear about your mum it’s tough looking after family! I have been visiting my sister in hospital since last October and last Saturday she passed away! I hope you get a little time to fix your bike in between looking after your mum!

Back again,I have started working on the 89 again, the motors out and headed for Protwins and a makeover, not sure to what extent yet. Possibly just the oil leak , maybe as much as a complete overhaul , replacing the standard cams with the cams in my ST2, a replacement counter shaft or rebuild the splines on the original, a 2nd engine would be good but pretty rare, I just missed one that sat unsold for 5 years , snooze ya loose they say.a couple pics of the backwards sort of forward steps going on right now cheers

This strong,,hopefully ,, plastic box fits like a glove, with the help of a long overstressed screwdriver, backed the trailer up to motorcycle bench and leveled up for an easy transition, I need these little tricks to save my old back

With the engine out I'm going to backtrack a bit more and polish the new silmotor exhaust system and the inlet stubs but this time I won't be polishing the internal of the inlets as I did to the last set, here's a couple pics of how that's going, ok pics not loading I will keep trying

Hey HIGHWAY89,

I really love the looks of those very first Brembo street legal 4 piston brake calipers (P432d) on that Marzocchi M1R fork!
I do have a pair of those calipers but my Paso 750 M1R fork has mounting eyes for Brembo's P08 calipers (108mm center distance) and so I need an adapter for the P432a calipers ….. not nearly as beautiful. :dunno:
