What is best bracket to use to convert from 280 to 320 discs

Post by 1989750Sport »

We just finished installing the rear wheel ...next job is the front. Need a brake bracket to hang 40mm brembo 4 piston calipers. Have wheel and discs, but need bracket and calipers ... on a budget... it's Christmas

those won't work. Here's a drawing of the right adapters.

yeah. +1 ... they look very similar dimensions... your drawing (nice detail on the drawing by the way) has the 40mm caliper slightly leading but i wouldn't have thought that would a huge difference?

The drawing was made many years ago in Powerpoint. :truck: Unfortunately I have no skills using AutoCad.
The dimensions if you refer to the distance from the top or bottom edge to the caliper mounting holes are indeed the same. The difference is the offset.
On this pic from left to right you see the 280 adapter (in the 280mm disc position), the 300/320 in the 300mm disc position and upside down for a 320mm disc.
If you turn the 280 adapter upside down it will fit a 300mm disc, too. The caliper will have less offset compared to the 300/320 adapter but sit higher. To fit on a 320mm disc the caliper would have to sit even higher or more offset. Therefore you'll need the other adapter.

Ducpower has some conversion brackets for USD$75.00 http://www.ducpower.com/ With the right offset.
