Return to the sport 750--900 road

Post by 900SS90 »

Good morning to everybody.
For different reasons I have been a while, apart from the ducati, now I can go back again.
I learned a lot at the time of this wonderful source of information, thanks to the altruistic and selfless work of all of you, thank you.
I want to get back on the road with my ducati 750 Sport, which I had in a corner of my garage.
I have come back strongly, and I bought a 900 Supersport 90 in England.
As an amateur mechanic, and with his help I think I can get ahead, with the return to the road.
On my return, I run into some problems, mainly spare.
I found the square tooth straps, for me 750, but not for the 900,
Can someone tell me the reference or if they are compatible with another model?
I do not even find the headlight for the 900, I searched the forum, and I have not seen any solution, maybe I did not look well.
I live in Spain, and the light of the English lighthouse, to circulate on the left, is not legal here, I have to change for a European lighthouse.
If someone in your country circulates on the left you have a European, I would gladly exchange it, or I can buy it.
I think that to return, I've bored them enough with my message, and it's time to present my bikes.
My language proficiency is not fluent enough, I hope you can understand me, I apologize.
A greeting from Spain

The 900 uses round tooth belts. The current part number of the original belts is 73710081A.
They are the same used for:

Cagiva
900 Elefant AC , BJ 1993 - 1997
900 Elefant GT , BJ 1991 - 1993
900 Lucky Explorer, BJ 1993 -
900 Gran Canyon i.e. , BJ 1997 - 2000

Ducati 900 SS `90
Ducati 900 MH , BJ 2001 - 2002
Ducati 900 Monster , BJ 1993 - 2001
Ducati 900 Monster S , BJ 1998 - 2001
Ducati 900 SS/SL , BJ 1991 - 2002
Ducati 906 Paso , BJ 1989 - 1992
Ducati 907 Paso i.e. , BJ 1990 - 1993
Ducati 944 ST2 , BJ 1997 - 2003

You should be able to find them from numerous manufacturers.
As for the headlight the 750S and the 900SS share the same unit. Try to ask Rudy, maybe he has one. You find numerous of his posts in the classifieds section.

Btw. that is a nice and clean looking 900SS

in any case 90.0% of the 400-350-600-750-620-900, paso 750 , 906, 907, ST2s and 1000DS will be compatible with each other

on my Elefant 750 engine, I have half Paso gearbox (secondary), F1750 primary gears, M750 conrods, Paso heads, M620 cam pulleys (with round belt teeth) andI don't remember (too many aperitives tonight!) what else...

sometimes you check with the dealer and they tell you the part you are after is no longer available, but you check the same from another bike and it will be perfect for the purpose.

I had that with the 907is brake bolts, they are the same as the ST2, but checking with the dealer they did not have that info in the system...

Thank you all for your answers.
Yes, in this dinse I found filters and belts for the 750, but it could not secure the belts for me 900, that's why they did not send them.
On Monday I'll talk to them again and ask them for the original Ducati M900-ST2 01 strap, and mount it on the 900.
The 900 has mikuni carburetors, but they do not have any type of air filter, I have only rolled a few kilometers to test since they gave it to me, and cough a little, at the beginning, and stain the carburetors.
I have to put some kind of filter and adjust.
The first impression is good. It is handled differently than my 750.
When I receive the straps I will start with a good review, I will count the advances and ask you for help.
The problem of the lighthouse, I will put an advertisement in sale purchase.
Good weekend
Thanks again to everyone for your help.
