paint code blue 1990 Paso 906

Post by hardo »

Hi everyone, does anyone have the paint code for a blue
906 paso. I simply wanted to fix some very small cracks in the fairing. However, the local dealer has no color anymore.
Is there somebody who can sell a smal bottle of color (with a brush). Thanks a lot for your help and keep on riding.......

Hardo,

The color code used on motorbikes (especially from that era) only point towards the specific pre-painted parts in the parts manual. They are not a paint code for a paint shop unfortunately. The only exception to this I know of is BMW.

However, if you go to a decend paint shop or car (motorbike)painter, they must be able to either match the color by eye or use a color scanner to determine the color recipe, and make the paint for you.
If memory serves me right, this dar blue color is not metallic, so should not be too problematic for professionals. Good chance Ducati used an existing (Fiat?) color for this.

Hardo,

The official paint code for the dark blue 906 is LECHLER 46204 and the blue metallic is LECHLER 46281 (CH).

This is out of the parts manual and means nothing to me.

For those who would like to know, red is LECHLER 46354, grey metallic is LECHLER 46207 and white is LECHLER 46216.

I hope it helps,

jomo

Lechler is a brand.
But, even if you are able to find a Lechler dealer, you have to think that the original colour was changed by the time, the athmosferics...
So, the best thing, if you don't want to paint the whole bike, is try to match the colour with a professional colour dealer.
I have had a blue 906 and I can confirm that the colour wasn't metallic.
