Hello all,
Getting my 906 rebuilt slowly and am wanting to know the colour codes to repaint it.
I've found a site that tells me Ducati Red is 473.101 PPG, but would like to confirm as they also said this was a more 'modern' colour.
Would also like to know if there is a specific white code, or is white just white.

Another question is can anyone suggest a supplier of decals to go on after I've painted it.

Many thanks, Rob.

There is no one correct "Ducati Red". Put a red 750, 906, and 907 next to each other and they'll all be a different red. By more modern they likely mean it's from a more modern Ducati as the red changed after the 907 too.

Thanks, thought this might be the case as it is the same with people wanting to know the code for Indian red - even harder when the bikes is 60 years old - so I painted mine yellow!

The original Paso 906 colours have Lechler codes.
I don't remember where I've seen it, no matter they should be on its microfiche.

from the Duc parts interchangeability list:

From Lechler in Italy: red 906 Paso (1989): Rosso 65205

Ducati Red / 473.101 PPG is fo the later Ducs which should start with the 907ie I think.

and that number its from a manufacture that sells the ink to ducati.
you have many deferent’s red’s

for example :if i wont to buy ink from piaggio i will need the code and they will sell 1 litter to you !! its simple and the scooters stay’s the same color of the same year .

take care

I have now my Paso goin' to paint job and I already got wheels powder painted with Antique Copper. That was mistake because no one wet painter can make that. But I think metal flake copper color will be near enough. Then that red: I had 911 Porsche and when it was painted I got 1 spare liter Indisch Rot 027 and I think that color would be great in Paso too
Thinking italian mentaly building Duces using whatever parts they have it's quite the same what that red color will be...

Fox,
1) the Paso 906 has white wheels, and not red (nor copper).
2) Every bike has its colour, and every colour has its code.

So, if he wants repaint the bike as stock, he has to use those codes (he needs also the white colour code).
If he don't like it, he could choose a green with orange polka-dot :funny: , rather than what he likes...

Fact: Ducati parts manual for 906 states,

Red - LECHLER 46354

White - LECHLER 46216

They are the colours from the manual, let your painter work it out. No more arguments, no more discussion (unless you can help!) Don't confuse the issue

By the way,

Blue Metallic - LECHLER 46281 (CH)

Metallised Grey - LECHLER 46207

Blue - LECHLER 46204

Hope this helps,

John
