906 TYRES

Post by ljmorales11 »

Although I am the happy owner of a blue 906 since 1990, this is the first time I post a topic.
My topic is an old one: I am one of those Paso guys unable to find the original tyres. I have read several of the posts you have in the forum regarding the type and size of 16" tyres we can use instead of the original ones in our Pasos, but I am still confused since I have seen that several of you have had to do some modifications to adapt them. My question is simple: Do any of you know if it is possible to use some front and rear tyre model withouth having to do any modification in the bike? If so, what brand and size?
Thanks and Regards from Granada (Spain).

Hola LJ  ,
The choice is quite simple.
1) You can buy a couple of stock tyres (Michelin A/M 59). It seems to me that many people has found them on a Spanish website.
2) You can fix a 16" couple of tyres (150/80 at the rear side and 130/70 at the front side).
3) You can swap to the 17" wheels buying a Monster couple of rims (4,5x17 at the rear side).

Thanks to both. The web sites you indicate are OK but they are mexican and, apparently they do not ship them out of Mexico; anyway, I will try it.
I have not been able to find any in Spain yet, even though I have asked via internet to a lot of suppliers. Just four years ago it was still easy but not really now. If not, I will try the easier of the other solutions you suggest, just to change the size!

Unfortunately, it seems to me actually they have only the front tyre but not the rear tyre  .

Normally Michelin makes those 16" tires every SECOND year, when customers need them again... i have noticed that many times...

Terve Antti,

So you are active again on the web site! How was the trip to Egypt, not too many Ducatis to see?

Fraser.
