New, never sold 1990 906 listed in Cycletrader

Post by beemerboy »

I'm at the office, it's almost quittin' time so I decide to kill the last few minutes looking at stuff I can't afford. This time I'm cruisin' around Cycletrader.com and what do I find? A 1990 906 with only 8 miles on the clock. Check it out, boys..... :D

I'm telling you, it was a very close thing. I just about had mrs. faster talked into it. I would've taken a 1/2 day tomorrow to get the paperwork together then boom Saturday morning, off to the races! If she had caved, hoo boy. But I promised her I'd hold off buying another bike this year (silly man that I am) since we jsut bought a house, and she just got a new Subaru ...

But man ... there will never be another opportunity such as this, that's for sure. I was daydreaming about riding it home, but even those belts are "new" they're still 15 years old; probably same w/ the tires. So I'm sure there'd be some lovin' first, before any riding. Plus, with 8 miles on the clock ... a long trip isn't exactly the way to break it in.

But two of my buddies that I forwarded the link have offered their trucks for this weekend to get it.

I am very tempted to test out my philosophy of "it's easiest to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission" and just buy it ... but I have a feeling that would result in the loss of my breathing privileges, or at the very least my ability to set foot in the house for the next 12 months.

hm ... in retrospect ... my daughter was up for 3 hours straight last night, starting at 1am ... so sleeping in the garage with three Ducs doesn't sound so bad after all .... !

Who knows what the weekend will bring. Keep your finger crossed for me ... !

hey faster,
if you said no more bike this year then it sounds like only 8 months in the garage. my garage is heated and has a/c and running water(cold).

Do it my friend, a buy this good needs to go to the right owner. you owe it to all of us here @ ducatipaso.org to save this Unigue Ducati. Could you imagine what a waste it would be if it was purchased by a novice as a commute to work hack

Do it faster, do it  There was an 851 with only 5km on the clock they would make a good pair & you could then charge admission to your own Ducati museum. That makes it a business purchase & investment. Surely you could convince the missus that it is purely for profit that you must buy this/these bikes

wiggs ... good point. :) And since the little one has taken to screaming fits at 2am, it's sounding better & better all the time.

But you guys are gonna land me in so much trouble. Red, you're killin' me ...

It's hard enough not running right down there (yes, I called my credit union, which was dumb, because it was just a tease ... )

So tempting. What an incredible opportunity. I doubt we'll ever see something like this again ... I know it ... but I just can't bring myself to do it for the sake of domestic tranquility. But she knows how bad I want it ... I've got her on the ropes ... :D LOL

HAHA No, haven't bought it ... dying to, believe me, but for the sake of domestic bliss - at least until next year, or I snag that winning lottery ticket - I can't do it. Sucks. It's a once-in-a-litetime opportunity and I know it ... but I can't bring myself to the edge of divorce and child support to do it ...

Who knows ... maybe it won't move anytime soon ... keep your fingers crossed ...

I am so disappointed in you. You seemed to have had all your strategy in place to get Mrs. Fasterdammit's approval but here I see you're nothing but a mere poser. A Paso magnate wannabe

You're not the only one that's disappointed.

So if I buy it, can I come sleep on your couch & eat your food until Mrs. F lets me and the new Paso back in the house? :funny:

"Paso magnate wannabe"? I was summa cum laude! :neener:

I'm a bachelor with a four bedroom house and an oversize garage currently housing three motorcycles and an SUV. Colorado's beautiful and there's lots of room at Casa Beemerboy so come on out for a while!

Who knows, maybe we could find you a new Mrs. F!
