The lower stand is the original, the middle one I made and the top one made by a local fabricator. The long stands are 50mm longer than the original. Had to post this after seeing the 'knee down' angle of some of the Paso's with larger profile tyres but factory length stands.

Re: Evolution of the Side Stand
Original is also very easy to modifie, as its aluminium and good welder can weld easily also aluminium if he have suitable welding machine. Need only more lenght. Surely need also suitable aluminium "bar" to add lenght, but its very simple to make with lathe... Near all metal companies can do such work very easily/fastly...
I would also put little bigger plate to lower end, as sometimes have put bike to soft surface(like very hot asphalt,etc..) Ok, sometimes i use strong aluminium plate under side stand, or if i have beer can, i drink it and make it very flat with me boots and then its 100% perfect under side stand in sand, etc....

Lean angle
Now isn't that a nice lean angle? Of course I might have overdone it slightly. The fabricator and me agreed that adding a section to the original stand was not a good idea and for the price it was worth the extra to have a new stand.

Re: Evolution of the Side Stand
Making more lenght to original side stand is much easier job, than making totally new side stand and thats why also cheaper.... I stay in this.... Surely everybody can do whatever to they bikes and i accept also such...
Btw, why it wasnt good idea to make that original longer (i mean WHAT he told to You)?
