Post by hardo »

Order, buy and change new rear light switch. Its poor quality switch, but little difficult to find any other than Ducati original spare part.

Be carufull when take switch away, as liquid make harm to painted surfaces. And after new switch, u have to take air away from circuit.

Bevel Heaven has one that works, wiring need to be changed over but easy enough to do
I seem to recall a few folks getting a VW switch that does not need the wiring mod

Seems to me that some of you guys have issues with finding / x matching alternate parts .Maybe we are lucky here , but if I want a brake light sw , oil press sw , temp senders I go to Jim @ allparts who usually hands me a catalogue which has a pic and all the spec's , pick the one I want , pay for it and the courier drops it off at home the next day ( nz$17 for the oil pressure sw on the paso :) , I think its for a VW Passat) Do you guys not have this type of auto parts stores ?

It is the same here Mctool, there is a good auto parts store on just about every corner and many good cycle parts houses these days, Sudco for one and they are in no way the only or even the best but you do have to know what you are looking for and how to find it cuz a good knowlegeble parts man is hard to find these days and worth their weight in Ducati parts, a, er I meant to say gold :-P
These days I find ebay to be an invaluable source of all sorts of parts at fair prices in a day or 3.
For the brake light switch a quick search on ebay resulted in about 20 different switches for about 17 bucks delivered which BTW is about the same as your local auto store but on ebay you don't usually have to pay the tax collector at least so far :banghead: Not that I have anything against the tax collector  :fart: ;) ;)

Seems to me that some of you guys have issues
Keep in mind all of us at one time have been newbies, even old dried up and broken farts like you and me, once upon a time

now take a pull on the lever Mctool, you've earned it my brother of another mother

Dear all

Thanks for the input, I will check my local Ducati dealer and ebay / the net.

We do not have a "Jim @ allparts" job here, I wish we would! :-P

All the best, Hardo

Hardo,

HEL in the UK do mail order and have a banjo bolt with a built in pressure switch that you should be able to use as a sender for the brake light.....?

http://helperformance.com/store/product ... ts_id=3158

I haven't used one myself yet, but I plan to....

Cheers,

Mick

Gentlemen:

Would you by chance know if the Hel brake light switch as on

http://helperformance.com/store/product ... ts_id=3158 would fit on a 750 Paso b.l.s.? Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.

Best Wishes, Randy.
