a very clear headline, everyone will know what this is about Image :truck:
Isn´t the Electrosport ESR515 just the same as the Electrex RR51 ? The instructions are the same.

Looks to be the most recent offering by ElectroSport
http://www.electrosport.com/street-bike ... rectifiers

Cant' quite tell what the difference is, except the connectors. Same basic unit as best I can tell.

About connectors, I can tell the RR51 needs some little mod to fit on 907 electrics.
Does that ESR515 require less mods to fit on?

I have tried contacting Electrosport directly but due to the holiday I have as yet not recieved an answer.
Everything on the website says it is a direct replacement for the OEM. They even sell a connector kit that dupes the OEM. I tried a wire for wire hookup and also tried the rr51/esr51 hookup with no luck so far. I thought I remembered someone else had run across this before
Image

It is said to fit a range of Ducati's from a 78 Pantah to a 98 ST2 and a range of Guzzis.
Anyone recognize the connector style, maybe I can sort it out that way........My Fluke unfortunately has blown a fuse which I won't be able to get till Monday at the earliest so I'm kinda stuck. I suppose as the clock in the 906 has gone bad again it could be the issue, maybe I'll remove it and see what happens.

BTW, I'm fitting it to the 906 with a 3 wire single phase stator
The 906 went belly up on me on a ride 2 weekends ago. Stopped to get some fuel and when I restarted the charge light came on for about 10 minutes. About an hour later we made a stop at Washingtons crossing, where the Norton Gathering is held and I had to bump start it. Half hour later she spit flames and died as the ignition system went belly up due to the dead battery   :dunno:

so I understand you already have one. Then what`s the question ?
1-How to wire the thing up so that it works
2- recognize the connector style as it comes ? as in what bike may use that style of connectors

the reg has one white, one blue wire in a single connector bullet style
two yellow and two red,the reds are crimped together

has no markings on the regulator to clew me in as to which wire is what input/output

I`d say as the text mentions the ESR510 and 515 are internally indentical they just have differing wire colours (for whatever reason they did that)
My understanding:
black: ground
white: dashboard warning light (which would also explain the shape of the connector housing to prevent a short)
red: 12V
yellow: alternator
just like in the manual for the 510 with the difference that green is now black. If the right alternator connection is setup 1 or 2 will have to be tried. You should still have an analog volt meter :)

btw. on the Electrex website it says:
NOTE: for models with 2x YELLOW and 1x RED generator wires, please use type RR51, with both yellow generator wires connected together as 1 phase wire to the RR51, and the red generator wire as the second phase wire to the RR51.
which corresponds to the second wiring setup of the instructions.
(red wire of course meaning the wire coming from the alternator not the one on your reg/rect.)

fluke is fixed diodes check good, stator checks good'

soon as I get these bandages off will ,start looking for broken wire in the harness, must be a splice in there between the stator and the reg connector
