906 Paso Ignition key

Having just found my previously mislaid 906 Paso ignition key I think it would be sensible to get a spare. Are the blanks available and if so can any key cutter cut them or is this something that Ducati are only able to supply. I feel vulnerable without a spare.

Thanks for that. I realise now I should have searched for key blanks and not ignition key. I will be so much happier when I get a spare. :D

Silca zd10p is the brand/ part # of the blanks I have had cut , and you may not find them everywhere , there are others available but check on the physical size as some are bloody great car key size

The stock blank key is named Zadi 10.
Here in Italy, those keys are very common, so as their Silca copies.
Let me know if you have some trouble searching her.
However, pay attention when you'll find her.
My 2 907s have got 2 keys that seem the same, but really are'nt!!!
So, be careful.
Ciao

The Keys4classics guy is a magician, and really nice guy.
I ordered blanks, and they were incorrect for my bike, so I let him know.
He asked me for some good quality close up photos of the key I wanted to copy. He identified the correct blank, and cut the cut keys from a photo, and they worked wonderfully. Great guy, great service. He knows what he's doing.

Cheers, Phil

Thanks all. I have been on the keys4classics web site and have identified the correct blanks. I may just order a couple of blanks or I may send a close up of the original key to see if he can cut one from the image. :)

Just ordered a key from keys4classics. It should be here in a couple of weeks and I also now have the key code in case of further stupidity on my part. The guy at keys4classics told me that the key in the picture was not an original and had been cut on the wrong blank for a 1989 Paso so I felt happier paying slightly more but getting the key decoded and using that to cut a new key rather than just getting a copy cut from the one that I have.
