Generator/Alternator for 906

Post by duske »

Hi.

hope somebody can help me. My rotor has exploded and i'm therefore looking for a new generator. The one i have now is 3 phased but i can't quite find a new one. Anyone know where to but this ?

I have tried : ELECTREX WORLD, but the only have it in a 2 phase version. The regulator they have is 3 phased to it should be right we 3 phases..

Hope somebody can help.

why is it noone new to the forum adds his location to the profile ?
You don`t have a 3 phase alternator if it`s still the original one.

Profile updated : Denmark...

It is mounted with a 3 phase alternator. I talked to : http://electrexworld.co.uk/ , and they said that the regulator for this model was a 3 phase model so it would suggest that the alternator also was a 3 phase.

Don't know what is right and what is wrong, but if i change to a 2 phase i would also have to change the regulator and

a three phase alternator has 3 yellow wires. Do you have that ?
Original are two yellow, one red. (in which case the Electrex G92 should be the right one)

It is possible to fit a 3 phase on a Paso but it is a very big deal as all the rotating parts are completely different including the crank.

He'd also need an alternator cover and possibly the crankcases as major changes were made to the engines when they moved to 3-phase.

crank cases are different but should not matter, covers are also part of the problem :truck:

this is from the Electrosport website
