I have installed a new alternator after mine blew apart and seized my engine. My question; is there a particular way the two yellow wires coming from the alternator connect to the the two connectors in the wiring harness? The wiring diagrams show two yellow wires going into the voltage regulator at points 1 and 2. Does it matter which yellow wire goes to the 1 or 2 connection since this is a 2 phase alternator? I started the engine and the voltage at the battery was within range but the the yellow wires were EXTREMELY HOT for the period it took the engine to warm up.
I''m wondering is this normal?
