Brembo P4 30/34C spare parts the golden Brembos

can be found at Bevelheaven or MG-cycles in the US.
While Brembo themselves don`t sell a seal kit for this caliper (attention the parts from the P4 30/34 billet racing caliper won`t fit) you can find them from KTM.
seal kit = KTM #58713021000 ('00-'02 KTM Duke)
piston kit = KTM #58713019000
bleeder screw = KTM #58713020000

Brembo P4 32 spare parts the black Brembos from the early 907ie/900SS/851
The complete kit (pistons + seals): #120.2799.60 (you`d be very lucky to find one)

For a seal kit contact:
http://www.powerhouseautomotive.co.uk/ (ebay seller name "powerhouse-uk"). Price (Feb.2015) GBP48

Rear wheel spacer towards swingarm

The conical spacer between the wheel (sprocket carrier) and swingarm is often installed incorrectly. Its wide side has to touch the swingarm.
Installed reversed it will lock and it will be forced to spin with the wheel chewing into the swingarm. It can also damage the sprocket carrier.

In these drawings the grey is the rim, the pink the sprocket carrier

This is how a sprocket carrier looks if the spacer is completely forgotten

The damage around the axle hole is from the sprocket carrier. The larger diameter damage is from the sprocket bolts (be sure they are tight)

907ie starter sprag clutch replacement

907ie starter sprag clutch replacement

Hi everyone

I am currently going through the starter sprag replacement process and have found the numerous threads on the subject, here and elsewhere, to be very useful. However key information is at a number of locations and I found myself going round and round chasing links. So I thought I would try and consoldate and index everything as much as I can, to provide a single reference for this common and relatively straightforward task, in the Tech FAQ section.

1. DESCRIPTION

This link contains a good description of the sprag clutch and some useful tips for removal/installation etc:

https://www.mad-ducati.com/ShowPage2.ph ... 1Tn96l2m45

2. PARTS

This thread list the parts required for the job, including details of the KTM alternative for the sprag clutch

http://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6327

Specifically, the minimum required parts are:

KTM Free Wheel (Sprag) KTM Part No: 5844002600
Ducati Starter motor Brush kit, Duc Part No: 067050815 (makes sense to do these while you have access)
Alternator Cover Gasket, Duc Part No: 78810051A
A SKF 19778 Oil Seal (for the spring).

I found that this Ebay seller provided a better solution for the sprag spring, particularly in light of comments regarding difficulties finding a genuine SKF donor seal:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DUCATI-SPRA ... ctupt=true

If you are like me, you will also require:

2 x Needle roller bearings: Ducati p/no 061950075 (see: Mhttp://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4369); and;
Sprag clutch flange: Ducati p/no 16010571A

Both were worn and there was no sense refitting them.

3. TOOLS

You will need a puller to remove the alternator cover and an alternator locking tool both of which can be sourced here:

Puller: https://www.gbmotorcycleproducts.com/in ... ct_id=4982

Locking tool: https://www.gbmotorcycleproducts.com/in ... ct_id=4497

Locking tool w/30mm socket (if you haven't got one): https://www.gbmotorcycleproducts.com/in ... ct_id=6677

3. HOW TO:

This thread contains discussions about use of loctite, a loctite product sheet and the correct torquing of the alternator retaining nut (including the perils of over tightening):
http://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewtopic. ... ag&start=0

This contains a good series of pictures on the general process (disregard all the stuff about clutch removal; this is not required if you have the locking tool)

https://forum.perthstreetbikes.com/foru ... ch?t=85481

Finally, this provides a clear description of the correct method of installation for the alternator rotor, including the installation of the centre washer

https://www.mad-ducati.com/Technical/En ... over2.html

Hope this helps.
