purpose of fins?

Post by DuC-MaN »

Who can tell me the purpose of the plastic fins just above the rear wheel?

The left one sometimes seem to touch the side of the tire. So i'm thinking of cutting them off...

I am about to remove mine as well as the plastic rear guard, I really like the look of the ones I have seen inthe gallery with just the number plate. I have holes drilled into the "reflector fins on mine that make for a very secure point for the Octopus straps holding luggage on the rear seat. Still they are about to go in the name of good looks
