My coolant container has a crack so it will need replacement. Any ideas were I can find one?

If You mean expansion tank, there are not anymore such available from Ducati dealer (for many, many years!), so only way is to fix own by plastic welding, etc fixing, buy from Ebay good one, or make one from aluminium, or use expansion tank from some other bike model (not from any Ducati, expect 906). Check first accurately, from where it leaks.

You can find one from Ebay... sooner or later, but many of them are also leaking.... Good luck!

Your best bet is to have it "plastic welded" by a specialist. Even leaking ones sell for too much on ebay. The cost of repair is very reasonable and reliable if done by the right person. There is no glue that will permanently repair the tank.

Well I don't know I have not seen it as I was told by my mechanic over the phone. On monday I am going to the shop to see it .
I am afraid that if the plastic is shot, then you can weld it on one place and after while it might crack next to the weld, or isn't this the case?
Has anyone used a japanese tank or other alternative that will do the job? (japs might not have style but I have to admit they know their business when it comes reliability)

one thing that you can do once the tank is fixed is to do the CBR600 radiator cap conversion,
this will keep the plastic tank unpressurized and not have any problems
my tank was in good shape, but I still did the conversion last year as a matter of precaution

The material of the container is PE and is weldable.
I had mine welded a few years ago and costed € 15, done by a specialist.
If you have a very small torch or soldering gun you can do it by your self.
PE is a so called thermoplastic material, meaning that the material will melt again when heated. with the small torch (size of cigaret lighter) you can do it.
You also can add other PE material if you have to add material.
If you have plastic garbage bins, they probably made of HDPE (high density Poly ethyleen), you can practice before working on the container.

The Aprilia Pegaso's one fits on 906/907 without any mod.

Yes I read about that, but there is a comment that not all years fit, do you have more info on that? Have you used a Pegaso tank on your bike?

No, I have read that on "Mondo Ducati", an Italian magazine.
So, I'd go to a dealer who sells Aprilia's spare parts and would check what is the container which can be fitted without modifications.

I searched "CBR600 radiator cap conversion" and I don't get the original post on how to do this. Even a wide Google search for Ducati 907ie CBR600 radiator cap conversion doesn't reveal it. Anyone have the info?

EDIT: To answer my own question, the information can be found in the FAQ as coolant reservoir modification.
