New Design Timing Belts. What do you Think?

Post by du907 »

I just got these new belts from Bevel Heaven made by an Italian company named Bucci. They are Kevlar and are for various Ducatis, including the 907ie.

When I got them, they have wedge shaped teeth. Our bikes usually have rounded teeth, 70 teeth per belt. I talked to the guys at Bevel Heaven and he said that Bucci has a patented design with these teeth that make them work on Ducatis that use the round tooth belts or the wedge shaped teeth, these belts have 70 teeth. I have enclosed a picture, take a look and see what you think.

The old or original belt is on the outside, the new design belt is on the inside of the bend.
See those 2 points at the end of the teeth. There is some other "textures" on the teeth that doesn't show but apparently this is their patented technology.

Yes, it's so. Bucci is a very well named brand, but... talking about belts... I always prefer to buy them at the Ducati store.

They are not much cheaper than oe(price is each belt?). Do they still need changing every 2 years?

Nice.

IMO the Kevlar is just as, if not more important, than the shape of the teeth.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Those BH belts have similar tooth to Dayco belts, with a 'groove' at the tip of the tooth.
