wiring harness

Post by HondaBoy »

Hi everyone,
looking for some clarification re part number on 907 wiring harness.
In the parts manual it gives the part number 51010151A. As this is a USA parts list will the harness be the same for European models. I am assuming the "A" suffix denotes something other than America.
mine has been cut about and there is quite a bit of corrosion so a new one looks to be in order.

thanks for your help.

Doubt you'll get new, there might be one on a shelf somewhere. s/h maybe or get one made maybe. I have a spare that I don't really want to sell but you can borrow it to copy. Brentwood Essex, so not far from you. The only variation for the USA would be rear light/indicators probably.

Hi Keith

Thanks for the reply and kind offer of borrowing your loom.
I have found some on fleabay US, hence the question. I will look into the indicator connection and also wait and see what other advice comes up on here.

Generally, in manufacturing, the suffix of a letter usually indicates a revision level. A revision with an A infers it is one change, and that it is most likely backwards compatible.

If the revision is not backwards compatible, then they would generally change the part number itself.

Now, this is all in general manufacturing best practices. Ducati has gone through so many revisions in their ownership and structure, I can't say for sure how they do revisions now, or in the past. But I can guess.

Cheers, Phil

Plenty of spares on e-bay anyway. Generally $50-100 for a complete one.
