LED driving lights on the 907

Post by V12gte »

Drivers of cars just do not see motorcycles. I usually put an extra brake light at the bottom of my rear license plate and some driving litghts at the front to help with the safety.
For the front I went with the Micro SD Denali lights and they are mounted at the upper bolt of the brake caliper. The wire hugs the brake line, so it looks fairly unobtrusive.
I needed help with the rear strip. It wanted exactly 12V, but something was drawing more power on the same circuit. The solution from my local friendly shop was to swap the standard brake bulbs for LED ones, thus decreasing the draw. And my main brake light is also brighter now !

Maybe I can catch the attention of one texting teenager?

Good job. If the voltage to the rear brake light was dropping then there is a high resistance in the circuit somewhere, probably at connector or the ground connection. It won't be a problem with the LEDs for now but these things usually get worse with time.

Can you post some pictures of your brake light after swapping to the LED bulb?

Thanks.
