Started running rough

Post by giancarlo »

I recently ran my tank almost dry with a pretty high concentration of Teckron Injector Cleaner. Bike ran fine to station and I filled it up with the usual non-ethenol fuel available here. Bike ran fine for about 5 miles and then started running rougher and rougher. I can start it but it wont run at idle and if I throttle it it is rough. I am thinking that I might have picked up some crap from bottom of tank and figure I should change filter first. Can someone please tell the best aftermarket option for the bike ('91 907ie). I saw a reference to JP Cycle filters but the link goes to page with several options. I know that I do not want plastic.

Just a thought, a number of years ago I had a Concourse that showed similar symptoms and the guy that I sold it to ended up determining that there was a rubber diaphragm that was supposed to expand and contract with with throttle that was torn but that bike was not fuel injected so comparison is probably worthless.

Bike has run near perfect (except for blowing relays) for years.

Any other ideas?

The Mahle KL145 is supposed to be an equivalent.
