Now I need a new battery for 907ie
So theres a lot of choices for a battery for a 92 year. Does it really need 320 cca for the bike or 260 cca. The bike is new to me and since the battery is toast now I don't know if I need to spend more for 320cca.

After the 907, for the Monster and SS models and early ST models the battery was changed to a YB16AL-A2. Then from about 2002 they changed to a YT12B-BS and this is still used on all the current models including the 1200s. I'm not sure what's fitted to the 1299 Panigale, but it's probably the same.
The Y16B specified for the 907 is 19Ah and 240A CCA, the YB16AL-A2 is 16Ah with 200A CCA and the YT12B-BS is only 10Ah with 210A CCA.
If your bike is in good condition and starts quickly when cold on pressing the starter. I'd go for the YT12B-BS or an equivalent. If it has starting difficulties the bigger capacity battery might be better. However if it has a starting problem it probably needs an overhaul anyway along with possibly uprating the starter and earth strap cables.

For a wire kit, I suggest Motolectric. http://www.motolectric.com/makes/ducati.html
Nice kit, and the originator of the kits before Powerlet started making them. I have one coming today to put on my 907.
For batteries, I prefer the Oddessey line of batteries. They have done very well for me and have lasted over 5 years.
Of course, the new Shorai lithium batteries are pretty special, but I'm now quite ready to step up to that yet. Certainly the racers choice in off road racing.
Cheers, Phil
