Hi, i've just started my 907 after a 6 month sleep, as usual the bike starts after a few churns of the starter. I've had the bike for 13 years and the battery is over 10 years old, it is an Oddessy , the longest battery i have ever had, what a great buy for £66 in 2006.
It was said that Italian bikes are unreliable, however mine has been excellent in every area, even better than the 851 i used to own.
Has anyone had a usable battery for longer than 10 years?
Regards Julian

Has your bike got a standard rectifier/rectifier? I changed mine on a Benelli I own to a modern electronic one and so far my battery is nearly nine years old! I think if a battery is not overcharged by a faulty unit it last much longer!
10 years is very good though!

Not a bike but we had a Toyota MR2 for 17 years and did 240,000 odd km's ( total was 330,000km's ) and I only replaced the battery about a year before we sold it ( twice actually as the 1st was dud and didn't last a week ) ha , when you thinks of it the battery lasted longer than the motor coz I replaced that at 170,000 km's
