take down front cylinder head

Post by nlzero »

hi, task at hand 'taking down the cylinder head' - front cylinder. forum search and workshop manual didnt get me further on that initial task, to later diagnose my oil issue. any hint / link on how to align the pistons etc before further action?
I am keeping it with higgy's signature

Gruezi !

I have not understood why taking the front cylinder head could help to solve your oil problem, but to dismantle you need a special ducati tool in a "U" shape. Check at the end of the workshop manual and order it at your local ducati store or on eBay :

Objet :
Laser Outils 6127 crows pieds clé set-DUCATI for around 55€ delivery included.

Align cylinder ? Well there is only two cylinders and two pistons connected by a conrod for each one....

Nlzero, before opening the engine, check through the trap about the guides of your valves if they are loose, if the rubber is still there.
