Gearbox lever end falling

Post by persempre907 »

Hi friends,
I'm not riding so much and not reading the forum too.
Now, I'm doing a little weekend trip with my black 907 and... I'm seeing the lever end of the gearbox is falling.
She is riveted, but I'm scaring I could lose her during the trip.
Some advice?
Many thanks in advance.
Ciao

Remove the complete lever from the bike and widen the rivet a bit until it sits tight again.
Just in case you should take a short alu tube and (or at least) a longer M6 screw and two nuts with you. In case you lose the lever you can make something up.

If possible, grab yourself a ball bearing about 10mm in diameter and use it to flare the rivet end. Place it in a bench vice and tighten it up just enough until there is no more movement in the shaft, don't over tighten it or you risk cracking the lever. Make sure you have the shoulder on the shaft hard up against the lever. I had to replace the shaft on mine recently and used the same principle.

Many thanks, friends.
I'll try to tight the rivet.
