907ie FRONT DISC SET NEEDED.

Post by customhead »

mmmmm..thought i had 1989 900ss forks on the project but the 320mm rotors dont let the calipers bolt up.

pretty sure it will be the 907ie BB1 forks that take the 300mm rotors then. annoying.

anyone have some rotors hanging around?

regards

Sean

Sean, you should just need a set of adapter plates plates for the 4 Spot Calipers to suit the rotors, they were available through bevelheaven, https://store.bevelheaven.com/brake-rel ... mm-rotors/

and/or there are drawings on the site to get them made up.

This is one type below, assuming 40mm mounting centres

I am using 40mm spaced calipers. You can see them on the ground. The forks have 40mm mounts.
I would like to keep both and just change rotors.
Those mounts wont help and I dont want to use "Yamembos" BMW 851 :-P

the color for the bike is Blue Grey. I have made many custom Ducatis and am bored of red, black, and yellow.

so the issue is not an incorrect offset of the discs but that you can`t mount the calipers due to the 10mm larger disc radius? I guess one could design a caliper adapter to make it work. Can`t say how that would look though.

What bike are those calipers from or did you paint them ? The ones from the early 851 look different and the black ones from the old Multistrada have 65mm mount.

exactly. its the diameter that is a problem.

the calipers are what I call STD gold Brembos (think 900ss) but 2-pak black.

300mm discs are the easiest solution I believe.

Not a problem, could see the 4 Spots on the ground, but couldn't see the mounting tabs on the forks, so thought they were MIB's or similar with the 108mm mounting spacing, my bad.

Metropolitan Spares in Sydney would most likely have 300mm s/h rotors to suit if worse comes to worse.

Cheers
