Sierra Ride - Aug 25

Post by ducinthebay »

I'm looking for a riding partner for next weekend. I need to end up in Sutter Creek on Hwy 49 next Saturday night.
Route, and timing depends on who I ride with.

Cheers, Phil

Sounds nice Phil - this Saturday I will be in the City buying a tank for my 750 from Ed (guzzitech)
I have been up to Nevada City and Grass Valley twice this summer already - almost drowned at the confluence of the North fork and Middle fork of the American river - inflatable kayaks are NOT real kayaks - trust me!!

Enjoy - bring some photos back

Had a lovely time. No bad events, only good ones. The weather was warm but tolerable on Saturday, but just perfect on Sunday. I have a new favorite road to ride if/when I finally get up into the Sierra. Off of 88, just past Pioneer, there is Omo Ranch Road. A lovely two lane to nowhere with thin trees all around, great pavement, no traffic or homes. Its all 3rd and 4th gear stuff, but lots of variety, and nothing bad to say about it. I went out Sunday morning from the Jackson Ranceria Casino, and just started down any road that looked interesting. Most had lots of homes and traffic, but Omo Ranch Rd. was the jackpot I was looking for. Got back just in time for the wedding I came up to attend.

The ride home across the valley was as expected. Too much traffic, lots of headwind, and the sun in my eyes. But I'm home all is good.

Cheers, Phil
