Well, its not me.

You'd think that you would learn a thing or to after riding off and on for 30 odd years.....wait, I do believe I have learned to fall off without hurting myself too much.

Well there you go, perhaps it is me!!!!

Not you huh :P I gotta say that you wernt that hi up my list of possibles   . But I am really interested in this falling off and not getting hurt thing :) you could be on to something there. Last time I fell off it hurt lots    . I used to think that if you dont fall off your not trying hard enough, but in hindsight that might only work for trail bikes, I have fallen off my trail bike LOTS and never really got hurt ( some real crowd pleasers too!) every time I fell off a road bike I had a hospital stay .
anyhow
The greatest motorcyclist in the world.... further musings.
would the gmitw actually have to ride a bike , I mean it could be the guy who makes the IOM happen, did Sorchiro Honda ride a bike ( ha ha ... bet it was a Harley   ) or did he just make millions of them, could be Casy Stoners Mum ( somebody has to get him up , cleaned and dressed in the morning ), what about Phil Irving ( you'd think that if your smart enough to design the vincent youd be smart enough to buy one before classic prices went thru the roof ... :D )
Im picking that thre real Greatest Motorcyclist in the world is someone we have never heard of ( dumarse probly doesn't even know !  )

You are all missing the question "greatest motorcyclist", not just road racer.
That then means someone who has been great at various motorcycling disiplines and acheived at the highest level. Someone like Kenny Roberts who competed in those flat track dirt ovals, road raced, won GPs, been a world champion. Or what about Sammy Millar, trials world champ for umpteen years, competed in road racing GPs, factory rider etc.
Modern riders have become so highly specialised that we may never see a multi-disipline champion again.

Cheers,

Fraser.
