Long Way Round

Post by redpaso »

I was given the "Long Way Round" DVD set for Christmas that features Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman riding round the world on BMW R1150 GS's & it is bloody fantastic veiwing. Even my daughters (aged 7 through to 17) are really into it. We watch 1 episode a night to make it last & I reckon when we finish in the next few nights we will probably start over again.

It has certianly fuelled the flame that has been burning inside me for sometime now to purchase a Big off road BMW.

If you have not seen it yet, get it & watch it it is fantastic!!!

I saw that and wanted to pick it up - glad to hear its worth the purchase. :)

Do you have/have you seen "Faster"? Ewan MacGregor takes a bunch of the MotoGP riders for a twist through the streets of Italy(?) on their GP bikes at the very end. Sounds like he's a real supporter of the lifestyle(!)

Is this part on the bonus disk? I watched the main feature over Christmas break and didn't see that anywhere...

Don't have faster yet but it is on my list. Ewan also Narrates the "Troy Bayliss Story" which has won many international awards as best Documentary. They are apparently really good mates.

You can get the Troy Bayliss Story DVD here:

Charley Boorman, the other guy that did the "Long Way Round" adventure is currently doing the Dakar Rally on a BMW F650GS & is making a Documentary of this also. You can check out his progress on:

or the Dakar rally Website:

(That yearning for Off Road BMW grows stronger by the day, especially as I finally let my K100RS go to another home)

Actually, they put it on the end (or was it a bonus?) of the initial pre-release.

I ordered "Faster & Faster" too but I haven't watched the 2nd disc yet ...

D'oh!

I gave that one away when I got the new version. I'll have to search for it and see if it's still on there. :ugh:
