So, what have I missed?

Post by fasterdammit »

Mike, Jon, Skins, Gerhart, everybody ...

How the heck are ya? I've been off the site for quite a while. Mainly because the Paso has lain dormant since late '07, I'm sad to say, for a number of reasons. But it's making a comeback. I wound up having buy a new rear shock and I found a nice Works Performance unit that I'll be trying out. I'm doing the long-overdue valve service, new belts, plugs & general once-over (and torquing of everything) as I go. Had the forks refreshed. Need to pick up a new battery, and I'm considering the sealed type this time around. While I'm not doing he brake & clutch lines yet, my intent is to switch them to braided S/S lines as soon as my Monster is road worthy.

At this point, neither of my bikes are on the road (proving my point that every motorcycles needs at least three motorcycles): last July I got T-boned on the Monster by someone in an SUV who didn't pay attention and went straight through a turn-only lane. I walked away from it, but they totaled the Monster. I bought it back - no salvage title, luckily - and I've been rebuilding her since. So hopefully, both bikes will be back in service in short order.

Anyway, just wanted to say hey again, it's been a while, I missed being a part of this community, and it's nice to be back.

So. What have I missed? :)
Jake

@Skins - I still have your Paso pin on my jacket, you bet ;)
Just because you're not dead doesn't necessarily mean you're living, either.

Faster, you didn`t beat me. My bike is in the garage even longer than that. :dunno: But at least I know I could finish it in no time if I finally got some parts back from anodizing.
Not much news on the Paso front unless more and more threads finally about alternative tire conversions.
Good to have you back!

Good to see you back kicking around the forum...

You haven't missed much. Some of the same old discussions on tires. ;)

I did ride my Paso, gain, last night for about 130 miles after work. I forget how many I've put on the old girl since getting it running.....3000 miles, I'd guess off the top of my head. I was riding it in the mountains, yesterday, and had forgotten how light and nimble the thing is....and lacking in power compared to the other bikes we have. LOL I did run it up to about 100 mph, though.
