With dual spark conversions you really have to know what you`re doing. If the timing is not set exact you can ruin your engine pretty fast.

They have modified many 900cc Supersport(91-97) syl. heads for 2 spark plugs, but that is easier in that air/oil cooleed engine... Some of them used Harley coils. :smoke:

Unfortunately, it can't be read by not registered users.
I tried to register to that forum, but seems the administrator has to authorize me before I can read that forum.

Very interesting.
On a 900 engine, he has reached 92hp, from 78hp of the stock engine.
If someone needs the translation...

So he has raised the compression to 13:1 with a new set of pistons, ported the head with new valves, added Benzene to the fuel as well as the additional spark

More compression=more power, simple. But lifetime of engine will be much lower. Its wiser to make more CC*s, than only compression... :smoke:

But Ducapaso is very good in marketing, as he put some pipe there(upside down, like newer Ducati forks... ) with stamped "made in Italy"...    Are you working with marketing ???

I wonder what power increase you could have by a mild compression boost, say 10:1 and the port and polish with the extra spark. Adding the second plug seems to be fairly easy and I do have a spare set of heads and cylinders, hmmmmm another project to put on the todo list, if I ever get through the honeydo list

Dual spark is not bad idea at all, as also factory have gone that way.... Its good for fuel burning surely. Its much easier to do to air/oil cooleed engines, than to water cooleed ones. If do such to water engine, then have to be VERY sure about water/oil lines in sylinder head. Surely that can be done also, but i wouldnt do it to my OWN "water heads". As i told earlier, many guys have done it to air /oil cooleed 900cc SS engines with quite good results, but its not only way to get more power.... There is also big bore kits, etc... ALL depends, HOW MUCH MONEY u are ready to invest such old bike, as Pasos are... I think that allways... With enough money u can also take flight to space...

What is the power difference between 2V 1000 & 1000DS?
I think dual spark is mainly for emissions, not power,
but what do I know....

dual spark is strictly a flame propagation thing, related to higher octane fuels required for higher compression ratios.don't think anyone wants to go there ...again
that is why he adds green benzene in the 13:1 version of his mod
I don't actually think dual spark would add anything to a normal compression engine but it would sure be cool
