Amazing project bike - off topic

off topic...but you've gotta see this...

perhaps you'll sneer at the work as "bush mechanic" but these pictures were taken in East Borneo (Kalimantan - Indonesia) in a tiny village where the bike was built up by a local mechanic.
in case you didn't notice - neither front OR rear wheel has a centre hub...and yes, it is rideable.
the engine is a "worked" 100CC Kawasaki.

dunno that I'd trade my 907 for this hottie but it would turn heads parked outside a cafe!!!

I must admit I was kind of amused that the seat is adorned with an image of a naked Western woman - the area is very strict Muslim and only a few of the local ladies don't wear head scarfs...

100 (one hundred) CC engine.
99% of the local bikes there are less than 125CC; occasionally you see a 250.

there were a lot of 250CC in BalikPapan; I even saw a police escort of the local Kawasaki 250CC club - about 200 bikes!!!

Engineering wise the way they have centered the rear drive with a cycle chain wrapped inside and around a hollow wheel rim kinda puts into perspective the simplicity of the system and overall it proves how present day rules/regs and "third world" freedom from red tape allows these countries to thrive and develop while we in the rest of the world stay stagnant bogged down and stifled by government cotton wool.

I have a friend who sells containers full of machinery that he sells to Ghanaian scrap dealers who turn them into working gems used for their original purpose or as spare parts for a multitude of other appliances all hand crafted back to life by innovative self taught engineers.

Its an eyesight thing. Too many "0's" and "c's" together, they all look the same to me.

Have a great New Year Laddie.
