Hi,

Had a busy weekend.
First on Saturday my MZ Skorpion Sport went to a friend.

Then on Sunday morning a Moto Guzzi 850T California 1980 arrived. It rides a bit strange, we shall see what happens with this one.

Will just stick with the Paso for the moment.

Cheers,

Fraser.

Haven't had enough time on the Guzzi to form a proper impression, just done 75km so far. However, initial thoughts that there would be insufficient ground clearance are unfounded. Acceleration is progressive but sedate and once at crusing speed there is the impression of being unstoppable (along the lines of an ocean liner, bulldozer, 18 wheeler etc).

Cheers,

Fraser.

"unstoppable" is the word for Guzzi long rides.
Your Mz looks nice!
Can you tell us something more?
how does it feel riding a single 660 engine on a naked bike?

Nicola,
The MZ 660 went pretty well, nice and light, very easy to flick from side to side. However, it is still a single and it a bit too low powered, you often wished for more. Also, it needed to be reved hard to get going, almost like a 2 stroke, it was not happy to slog from low revs; below 3000rpm nothing would happen except lots of chain snatch. At 80kph you needed to change down a gear (at least) to get some acceleration. But it was still lots of fun.

Cheers,

Fraser.

I understand what you mean:
in Tuscany we say "crush a cat in the door" referring to the sound while riding!
