The Paso is my first Ducati. This is the 2nd bike I have owned. The first bike I owned was a 1971 Honda CB450. I got it running but wasn's sure about the brakes and was scared to ride it so I traded it and 1988 Ford Thunderbird running but without keys (I traded a .22 rifle and $25 for those) for a 1979 trans am. It would run with a lot of effort. I then traded that for a 1987 Honda CRX Si. I still have it and drive it daily as my girlfriend has my 2006 Civic. The CRX is FAST!!!!

Sorry I was wordy but I am bored. The 2nd answer to your question is my Paso will be the first bike I actually ride.

Variety is the spice of life...I love my 907, but I am now negotiating on a 92 851, my brother had one and it would complement the 907, then I can choose between sport/touring...or...sport
if it does happen the 907 will still be my favourite bike...long live the mighty paso
Cheers Claude.

Perhaps, I'm a little boring in my tastes.
No matter, when I saw that black 907... I fell in love and I decided to buy her.
I also traded for a 888. Great bike.
I hope you'll find a nice one and, if you'll get her, let us see some pics.
Good luck

My first Duke was a 900S2, which I would sorely love to have again, have also had a '92 900SS, not the best to tour over 8000kms on, but did the job.

Some of the others:
Yamaha XS500
Yamaha XS650
Honda CB750k1
Honda CB750f1
Suzuki GSX1100
Ducati 900S2
Suzuki GSX1100efe (really interesting steering on this bike)
Suziki GSX1100 Katana
Suzuki GS650 Katana
Kawasaki GPZ1100
Honda CBX750
Suzuki GSX1100f
Ducati 900ss
Kawasaki Z1000
Ducati 907ie
Suzuki GSX750 Katana (popup headlight model)
BMW R1150GS

These bikes span the 34 years from 1976 to now. The last three I still have in the stable, would really like to still have a few of the others too, but alas.......

i bought a katana in south africa for £300 or so. i think it was an 850. silver and orange with a straight through 4 into 1 on it. it howled. as you can imagine it was a bit rough arround the edges for that money but it kept going for four summers down there before i sold it on. the seat was simular to a paso one. great roads in south africa and often not much traffic. a small 'fine' always took care of and speeding indiscressions and motor bikes never got carjacked and often initiated frienships. i can not say i miss that bike but it done me good and was not the worse ride ive owned. i would love to have my 906 down there! :)

Jaffa - Respect

Claude - This'll make you laugh, the auction at which I bought the Paso - the lot before was an 851 which I was out-bid on! Otherwise I would also have an 851 and a 907 (instead of the 916S).

I had another look at Jaffas bike (had) list...quiet impressive

Rhino, I dont know much about 916's but compared to the 907, the 851 looks a lot more complicated motor wise...
the intake shims next to the inlet manifold look very crowded...and might be a bit of challange to adjust :dunno:

thanks Nicola, cheers

this project will take me a while...but thats it!!...two bikes is enough
Cheers Claude.

Claude - Shims? Complex motors? Sorry mate I have NO IDEA, I leave stuff like that to professionals who know what they're doing and where all the various shit goes. Me? I'm a lawyer, and a good one, if bike engineers want to sell a house they see me - if I want my bike maintained I see them. It's a simple system but then . . . I am a bear of little brain and it works for me. Claude I know my limitations and working on a complex bike engine is way the other side of my competence. Oil change maybe - shimming out an intake manifold? Huh ??????

Rhino, I agree your way is the best way to do things...be good at your job and let other professional people good at their job do things for you...

my job involves a lot of mechanical and electrical work and during the quiet period I find working on the bike relaxing and a bit of a challenge...although I would never split a gearbox open
Cheers Claude.
