PASO TAG - A Game for everyone

OKAY FOLKS ..... YES I KNOW I AM SHOUTING ...... but here is the reason anyone interested in a little game of tag with your Paso?

Rules are simple just get a picture of your Paso alongside a building, vehicle, bridge, or any other interesting roadside subject matter with a little bit of history or simple knowledge of the subject.

Then add at least 4 new pointers for the next person to post and link.

Then when next on Their (your) ride out they find another subject that links their (your) bike picture to the last and post it. With Their (your) own links for the next photo.

Simple I hope and we can all get to see some interesting places from around the world.......Maybe?

Here goes nothing......

Brighton Pier - England, Europe.

The first pile was driven into the sea on 7 November 1891, The pier was opened in in May 1899 after costing a record £27,000 to build. This was then Brighton's third pier. A condition to be met by its builders, in exchange for permission to build, was that the first, the Royal Suspension Chain Pier of 1823, which had fallen into a state of disrepair, was to be demolished a task that they were saved due to a storm largely destroying the Chain Pier before they actually started the demolition.

A concert hall opened two years later, and by 1911 this had become a theatre.

During World War II the pier was closed and some decking removed as a security precaution.[1]

During a storm in 1973, it was nearly destroyed when a 70-ton barge moored at the pier's landing stage broke loose and began to damage the pier head. Luckily it was re anchored.

A bomb planted by the IRA near the pier in 1994 was defused by a controlled explosion.[3]

It is known locally by it's real name as The Palace Pier.

The Palace Pier suffered a large fire on 4 February 2003 but the damage was limited and most of the pier was able to reopen the next day.

The pier was listed at Grade II* on 20 August 1971.
As of February 2001, it was one of 70 Grade II - listed buildings and structures, and is one of 1,218 listed buildings of all grades, in the city of Brighton and Hove.

I actually thought I gave enough brief info as it is the 23rd gathering of the Delaware Valley Norton Riders group and at Historic Washington Park along the Delaware river

But then as an American I know all about George Washinton's Historic crossing of the Delaware to kick the Brits Arse

Nice one Higgy and thank you for joining in. But don't forget to add

Some History or simple knowledge of the subject in the photo and then add at least 4 new pointers for the next person to post and follow on LINKS. - To try and add the "TAG" theme to this posting. Just a bit of fun info not a full on history lesson.

With the "LINKS" Then when next on Their (your) ride out they find another subject that links their (your) bike picture to the last and post it. With Their (your) own links for the next photo.

A short ride to an architectural group not far from home, Hi-speed railway and bridges by Calatrava in Reggio Emilia (Italy)
Nice to see but hardly criticised because of costs, as 2 out 3 bridges cross trafic roundabout and the station is really in the middle of nowhere, badly reached by bus and uncheap taxy service (10 euros for 5 kms).

Wow that is some impressive structural features  However Nicola any chance you could post the actual individual photo's link as I don't know if you realise the link I see over here is photobucket main page and all the other advertising links attached flooded my page before I was able to see your phot's
