Well yes! I took my new (to me) 1992 907 to a local dealer for the 12000 mile service- new belts, valve adjust etc. I also asked them to clear up the poor part throttle response- the bike was lurching and popping through the airbox at very small throttle openings. The shop found it was far too lean on the CO meter, so they adjusted the idle mixture, which only fixed the idle reading of course. The shop had a few spare 907 chip lying around, so he tried a couple to see if it was the chip. The 023 chip was in the bike, but surprisingly when he put the U chip back in it was richer up to 4000rpm. He left the U chip in it, and I rode it home. The bike was still popping and lurching around below 4000 rpm at light throttle openings. I asked if they had adjusted the TPS and they said it was in spec, but I yanked the tank and I'm thinking that it was out of position. I don't have my vacuum guages yet to do the full on sync and adjust, but I marked the current position and backed the TPS up about 1mm (counterclockwise.) I immediately ran 100% better. I popped the 023 chip back in and it's running great down low and up high now. Bike has stock airbox, filter, and pipes. I have a set of Staintunes and a K&N air filter that came with it, but they are a bit too loud for me at this point.

The EU chip would get a richer carburation than the USA chip.
It's a good thing for a bike with open pipes and K&N air filter, but I guess it couldn't be enough.
You could get the valves burnt. So, take care.

I agree Frankie...

... btw, exhaust valves... nothing to deal with intake...

FIM chip would be best starting point, if start tune bike(exhaust and intake). But if have P7 ECU, then need also AMB from FIM, if want to modifie Eprom and keep those mods alive. P8(last 907IE-92 have P8) have that memory inside ECU and no need AMB.
