Hey PASO’ist.
I am in a situation that I need to change my front tyre. I am lucky to have a dealer near me home has the original Michilin tyre 130 / 60 – 16 in stock to an reasonable price. But I am also considering a new design of tyre, but with know compromise of another tyre dim. 130 / 70 – 16. What is your adveice, sticking to the original or going for an newer tyre design but with a higher profile. If the new design, which make and type would you recommend.
Regards
Klaus

Klaus,
I never tried different tires yet, but according to a file I found in the internet in Germany there`s an official tire approval which lists a Michelin 130/70ZR16 Macadam 90x
http://www.limbaecher.de/haendler_ftp/z ... ASO906.pdf
I don`t know if this helps as this model is not produced any longer but the successor is the 100x, which also exists in that size.

The Mac 100's are not listed in those sizes on Michelin UK
http://two-wheels.michelin.com/2w/front ... 03&lang=EN
But they are in atleast some of the common alternative sizes that shouldn't require much modification.
They are quite a long lasting tyre and not exactly at the cutting edge but then neither are the M59 A 59 tyres !
