Hi all,
I'm new here just registered today.
I was checking this wonderful forum for three months since I got my beautiful 750 Paso 88
white color all original except for alluminium Brothers mufflers. I love it!
The bike has 4,000 miles and looks like new.
I ride as much I can considering winter time here in Illinois, saying that, I was thinking to do a tune up this next spring removing the faring and start to replace spark plugs, oil, cleaning air filter and etc... with some help and the Ducati service manual.
As all you know about the weber carb. problems, I notice I do have a one too!... The bike runs great but if I try to push over 5,000 RPM it starts to slow down, almost died ones.
As i said I did not have chance to start to work on it yet, thinking maybe remove and clean the carb. will this be a good start? are there any solutions to make a weber a good carb. without switch with other brands?
One more question, how can I get a spare blank key for this model?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Maybe a good maintenance will help you, both carb cleaning and balancing and new spark plug can solve your troubles... You'll find best suggestions in f.a.q. post of 750 discussion

With only 4.000 miles on the clock I wouldn`t ride the bike before changing the belts as these are probably as old as the bike itself. So better stop riding until you`ve changed them.
For the carbs as Nicola suggested get new spark plugs (Champion RA6HC seem to work best), synchronize the carb and adjust mixture correctly. If it breaks in at higher revvs the engine may run too lean.
Key blanks are sold on ebay once in a while.
Guess you`ll need to change your tires too as with that milage they may be very old.

Welcome to the forum....sounds like a nice bike you bought. I agree with Gerhard....change the belts before you ride it much more. I'd hate to hear you broke a timing belt and trashed the engine in your new baby.

Your local Ducati dealer can get them. I believe they are the same as the early Monster and Supersport 750 motorcycles. In the USA, they run about $20-$25 each.
