I am the original owner of my 92 907ie. I have no regrets in buying it. I love this bike though I have not used it much lately.
I bought it due to:
1. it was the most upright seating position of the duc's offered at the time.
2. Techincal sophistication of the fuel injection. I was very happy to bypass my second choice at that time, the kawasaki GPZ1100 which is fuel injected.
3. During that time (1992) it was sold to me as a "high speed" touring bike and not a hot rod.

Since then/later.... when the Duc dealer tried to sell me on the new ST2. After a test ride, I found it totally unappealing due to it being a "sport touring" to me..... sport meant......lean forward a LOT. This reaffirmed my deep appreciation for my 907IE

My 2nd 907IE is for the hot rod version which is mid 916 conversion.
