Reply:I heard all of the complaints about the ST headlight and how the only fix was the $550 Ducati Designs headlight. But, I wasn't going to dump that much money into the ST. So, I tried upgrading the bulb to an HID. It helped but I was still disappointed with the light output and beam pattern. So, after successfully modifying my 1098 headlights by removing the metal cutoff inside, I decided to give it a try on the ST and the results were even more dramatic. The beam pattern and light output are so much better. So save yourself $550 by removing a single philips head screw.
Reply from author:may well be, but that shield is there to prevent direct light from being radiated from the filament. a cop may think you always have your high beam on, and oncoming drivers will see a lot of glare. be careful.
I've done it before, with the same results as you, so this is just a heads-up.
I hear you. But, if you put the DD light on you get the same effect. You can just lower it to keep the beam from going to high.
Is this mod something we could copy to our Paso`s?
I did not exactly understand what he did, can anyone explain?
